Biography |
Born in Costa Rica in 1978. Degree in Graphic Design and Photography. This complete and prolific Costa Rican artist has an extensive graphic production specialized in the cultural and social communication of his country, manifested mainly in the design of books, posters, logos and graphic identities, brochures, catalogs and advertisement. His contributions are based on a sharp and powerful visual thinking, with a particular way of synthesizing ideas from his creative, restless and particular vision, allowing him to locate the precise theme and intensify the selection of objects / subjects within a special photographic minimalism and conceptual illustration, which he installs or composes within a iconography of time with a poetic or metaphorical sense. He has also worked his most introspective reflections from the photographic perspective, developing a consistent thematic visual essay.

His work has been exhibited in prestigious museums and spaces in America, Europe and Asia, and he has published his work in catalogs and graphic design magazines around the world. First place in the PuntoD CR Design Biennial, finalist in the LAD awards, Peru Design Biennial, Lima and the Ibero-American Design Biennial, Madrid; selected in multiple international events such as the International Poster Biennial in Mexico, Ecuador Poster Biennial, LADFest; Madrid Gráfica19, Poster Contest-Listen to my voice, Poster Quadrennial Bardejov, Slovakia, Poster Fest, Hungary, Shut up! Ukraine, Posters on Politics, Baltimore, Avenues of Activism — Helms Design Center, Los Angeles, USA. Published by the Taschen publishing house in Latin American Graphic Design, a representative compendium of the most prominent graphic artists in Latin America. In Costa Rica, he received the “Francisco Amighetti National Prize for Visual Arts” for his work and contributions from photography.
