The experimental documentary “Janbal” directed by Hadi Kamali Moghadam and Mina Bozorgmehr will be screened on April 17, coinciding with April 17, at the “Poetic” Barbican event in London. This event examines the role of poetry and the tradition of storytelling in contemporary Iranian cinema, and the works of filmmakers such as Mani Haghighi and Abbas Amini can also be seen among them. The purpose of holding this event is to show works that with innovative stories and a global perspective, weave the concepts of daily life into the tradition of storytelling and present a new language to Iranian cinema. The film event will be held from April 4 to May 4, coinciding with April 3 to May 24 by the Bagry Foundation, Elham Shakerifar and Phi Harvey at the Barbican Center in London, and the documentary “Jumbel” will be screened on April 28. In this period, in addition to “Jumbal”, films such as “The Dragon Enters”, “Hindi and Hormoz”, “Mother of the Atomic Heart”, “Tehran, the City of Love”, “Against the Waves”, and “Ava” will be screened. “Junbal” is taken from the legends of the people of the south about human love and prism. The film tells the story of a man named Moses, who combines documentary, video art, and performance art with the discovery and pursuit of Moses in the labyrinths of a mysterious island. Moses enters the world of imaginary creatures with the magic of a mermaid named Dokhtar. This documentary is co-directed by Hadi Kamali Moghadam and Mina Bozorgmehr and co-produced by Ali Mosafa.
